Support our Community

On September 21st, Mayor Marchione will proclaim September 25 through October 23 as the “Eastside Month of Concern for the Hungry.”

The formal proclamation officially launches the “Share What You Can” campaign to benefit those served by local food banks and feeding programs throughout the Eastside.  The emphasis is to fill food bank shelves with non-perishable food items as the school season begins.

The “Share What You Can” campaign is a community-wide effort including Redmond, Kirkland, Sammamish, Issaquah, Bellevue, Mercer Island and North Bend.

Neighborhood associations, community groups, faith organizations, businesses and schools are encouraged to rally by hosting food drives and fundraising events here in Redmond.  Many grocery stores will accept donations on Saturday, September 25 for the “Day of Concern for the Hungry” kick-off as well as other weekends throughout the month.

In addition, the City’s fall Recycle and Collection Event on Saturday October 2nd will also provide an opportunity for you to make a donation.
