Repairs Continue at Redmond Pool
The Redmond Pool at Hartman Park continues to undergo repairs; however, the building is close to meeting the City of Redmond’s building safety standards.

As of the end of August, the City of Redmond has completed the following repairs:

  • Heating and air-conditioning systems are overhauled and cleaned
  • Leaking pipes and valves are replaced
  • Deck drains are clear
  • Electrical wiring and plumbing fixtures are replaced
  • Sewer connection is replaced
  • Roof is repaired
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements are complete

The selection of the new pool operator is on schedule, with a decision due by the end of August.

Improvements are still necessary before the building and pool are safe to reopen. These include complying with the Federal Anti-entrapment drain law, replacing all pool filters, improving the anti-slip floor coating and replacing the diving board hardware.

"The City's goal has always been to reopen the pool as soon as it is safely possible," stated Mark Hickok, the Recreation Business Operations Manager. "I cannot yet give a specific date, but we definitely see light at the end of the tunnel."

The City will continue to provide regular updates on its website at www.redmond.gov and hotline at 425-556-2375.
