8 Redmond employers
surpass Going for Green goals
“Going for Green” was a demonstration EcoCommuting project funded in part by a Washington State Department of Transportation Trip Reduction Performance Program grant. The grant was awarded to the City of Redmond in partnership with the Greater Redmond Transportation Management Association and Microsoft. Eight Redmond employers; City of Redmond, Greater Redmond Transportation Management Association, Honeywell, Microvision, Microsoft, Golder Associates, Astronics and Physio-Control, participated in the Going for Green grant program and collectively exceeded the program goal by more than 37%.
Businesses are increasingly asked about how “green” they are. EcoCommuting, or using alternatives to driving alone to work, helps improve mobility, decrease energy use and improve the environment. R-TRIP would like to congratulate these employers for their efforts and dedication and for providing their employees with viable options. Way to go!
