To help increase access to businesses in downtown Redmond, the City is implementing time-limits for approximately 300 on-street parking spaces during weekdays. The majority of downtown on-street parking is now limited to a maximum of 2-hours, with some exceptions including 1-hour or 15-minute load/unload designations. Time-limits will be in effect from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
The affected area is bounded roughly by NE 90th St, Cleveland St, 164th Ave NE and the Sammamish River. A limited number of $50 paid parking permits, allowing all-day parking, will be available for sale on a monthly basis. For paid parking permits, visit diamondparking.com. The first phase of rewriting of the Redmond Community Development Guide (RCDG) is complete. Thank you to everyone who participated! The outcomes of the first phase include an analysis of Redmond’s current zoning code, recommendations for how to improve it and a set of guiding principles to move forward. A priority for stakeholders is clear and concise language that efficiently implements Redmond’s Comprehensive Plan.
On September 1st, the Mayor and City Council appointed the Code Rewrite Commission (CRC). This seven-member advisory body will advise City staff and the City Council on changes to the zoning code. It will begin meeting this fall and will continue to meet through 2010. Similar to the Planning Commission, the CRC will hold public hearings on any proposed changes to the zoning code. The City welcomes your continued participation! Get involved by attending CRC meetings, sending written comments to the CRC or following the CRC’s progress online.
